Safe mobility
Despite the general trend towards a decrease in the number of road accidents, they were the cause of 140 deaths in Catalonia, 1,131 in Spain and around 25,900 in the European Union in 2014. The road accident rate is still a huge human, social and economic burden and a leading public health problem that we must continue to deal with.
With a view to achieving the zero accidents target set by the EU for 2050, with a reduction by 50% by 2020 compared to the figures of 2010, the RACC Foundation continues working on prevention and road safety in all fields of mobility, taking into account all possible factors that have an influence on the accident rate: the individual and his/her behaviour when moving, the vehicle and the infrastructures used for mobility.
