Safe mobility
Although it is true that the number of road accidents has decreased by around 70% in fifteen years, this reduction has been stagnating in the past three years, coinciding with the improvement of economy and the consequent increase of mobility.
The target of reducing the number of road accident fatalities by 50%, which was set by the European Union for the year 2020, seems difficult to be reached right now. However, the Foundation believes that there is still a large margin for improvement and supports the so-called 0 Vision, making a systemic approach to road safety and dealing simultaneously, with specific proposals, with people, vehicles and infrastructures.
